Google Calendar

What is read from your calendar, what is written to it, and what customer data is deliberately left out.

Our database is the authority on booking state. Google Calendar is used for two specific things, and nothing beyond them.

What is read

Busy and free blocks on the calendars you link to a staff member or resource. Busy time is removed from the slots a customer can request, and is checked again at confirmation. Event details are not read — only whether time is busy.

What is written

The event for a confirmed booking: created, updated or deleted as the booking changes. Pending, declined, expired and counter-proposed requests are never written to Google, and internal holds stay internal.

What is deliberately not written

  • No customer name, email address, phone number or notes.
  • No attendees — so Google never emails your customers on our behalf.

The event carries the service, the staff member or resource, and the confirmation number.

Permissions requested

Google permissions requested and why
PermissionWhy it is needed
Identity and emailTo show which Google account is connected.
Free/busyTo read busy and free blocks only, without event details.
Events on calendars you ownTo create, update and delete the event for a confirmed booking.

Disconnecting stops both the reading and the writing. Bookings already in our database are unaffected.
